Unless you own the Queen Mary, you will be
able to dock your boat right outside the back door of
Rumrunner's Retreat. One of the neighbors owns a 31'
Contender with twin 200 Yamahas and doesn't have a problem.
Another has a 26' Shamrock with a straight inboard. The lowest
point is just outside the entrance channel which is normally 3.5'
at low tide.
Or, if you prefer, you can rent the craft of your
choice from one of the following vendors.
The closest bait and tackle shop, The Old Wooden Bridge
Marina, is only three minutes away from Rumrunner's
Retreat by car, five by boat. It offers boat rentals,
ramp, bait, tackle, fuel and even some food.
Another nearby facility easily accessible from the house is Big
Pine Key Fishing Lodge offering the same mix of services.
A public ramp is located at MM-34, Spanish Harbor Wayside
Park, on West Summerland Key Waterway just before you come
on to Big Pine Key.
