Crane Point Hammock - Marathon MM 50.5 A great place to take the children and several things to see at one location. Children's Museum, Natural History Museum, Nature Trails Tour, and Adderly Village. 305-743-9100

Children's Museum of the Florida Keys. Things to touch and see from days gone by when the Florida Keys was home to Indians, pirates, wreckers, and railroaders. Marine life touch tank, fish feeding, interactive pirate ship, "Los Ninos de Los Cayos". Plenty of fish and animals for kids to see at the children's museum.

Museum of Natural History of the Florida Keys. Tools, shells, and dioramas of pre-Columbian Indians of the Keys, Spanish and British explorers, simulated underwater cave viewing tropical fish, sharks, lobster and marine life. Tour the Adderly Village Historic Site, a short walk from the Museum of Natural History, takes you to a restored Bahamian conch house. Tour the "Adderly Village" community, home of Bahamian families in the early 1900's. Nature Trails of Crane Hammock, marked and self-guided tour trails take you through a hard wood hammock.

Indian Key and Lignumvitae Key Tours - MM 77.5 Indian Key is a state historic site and only accessible by boat. These is a lot to see on the island and a guided tour is available twice a day at 9 AM and 1 PM on the island. Access can be arraigned at Robbies. Call 305-664-9814 and arrange to arrive early. The Lignumvitae Key Tour is largely botanical in nature and not for young children.

Pigeon Key Museum and Visitors Center - MM 47. Take the children to tour historic Pigeon Key, they will love traveling on the train/tram, a red and silver railroad car replica. From the visitors center on Knights Key over the old Seven-Mile Bridge to a 1912 Railroad Village. Tour the historic island and see the restored early 1900's railroad village. Visitors train to Pigeon Keys starts at 10 AM. 305-289-0025. Bike rentals available.

Key West Light House - 938 Whitehouse Street - 305-294-0012 This lighthouse is over one hundred and fifty years old. Tour is self-guided and children can see historical nautical items, and climb to the top of the tower.

Mel Fisher Maritime Museum 200 Greene Street, Key West 305-294-2633 See gold and silver bars, Spanish coins, emeralds and gems, jewelry, chains, and other shipwreck artifacts discovered by treasure salvager Mel Fisher. Documentary movie of Fisher's great treasure discovery of the Atocha, a Spanish ship which sunk in 1622.

Key West Aquarium - Whitehead St. and Mallory Square 305- 296-2051 Open from 10 AM to 6PM. The Aquarium has guided tours. Tour times are feeding times for sharks, stingrays, and barracudas. Touch tank for children with crabs, sea cucumbers, urchins, starfish, and such. See and learn about tropical fish in their marine habitats.
